Drum Road Trip is proud to announce that LA Session Player Tom Coyne will be teaching two drumming Master Classes at DRT2010.

Saturday Afternoon at 2:30pm, Tom will present: "Creating Musical Drum Parts". He will demonstrate how to build creative, and musical parts for your original material. Even if you are not in writing project, there will be a lot to learn at this class, so please don't miss it!

Sunday Afternoon at 2:00pm, Tom will present "Chart Reading Basics". He will demonstrate the essential components of working out drum charts, even if you're not a reader! This is a valuable skill for ALL drummers, and the hour will fly by, so make sure you can make it!      

About Tom Coyne:
Tom Coyne is a Session Player, Live Performer and Drum Teacher that is know in the Los Angeles area as the man that tought 10,000 lessons... And it's true! With over 20 years of teaching experience, Tom has literally instructed nearly a thousand drum students their craft. 

A 1989 Graduate of PIT, Tom is an excellent sight reader that manages to play to a click without sounding stiff or contrived. He's influenced by a wide range of drummers including John Bonham, Stephen Perkins, Bill Bruford, Chad Smith, Terry Bozzio, Ringo Star and Buddy Rich.  As a member of the Vic Firth Education Team, Tom has facilitated a series of clinics at Sam Ash as well as Drum Road Trip 2009. Tom was voted "Educator of the Year" for 2009 on the Internet Forum Unitedgrooveworkers.com and he is currently working on publishing his first instructional book.

Beside Teaching, Tom has been busy recording and touring internationally with various artists including "The Last Dance" and "45 Grave". His recordings include "Dichotomy" (The Prophetess, 1996), "Staring At The Sky" (The Last Dance, 1997), "Whispers in Rage" (The Last Dance, 2002), "Once Beautiful" (The Last Dance, 2005), "all Is One" (Simple Shelter, 2007) and was on the "Night Of Demons" feature film soundtrack as wll as the soundtrack for "Almost Beautiful". He was also the drummer on the  Fox Reality Show "The Search for the Next Elvira".
